The world of Baldur’s Gate 3 introduces a unique element of crafting through forged items, which can be crafted using the Adamantine Forge located in Grymforge. These special items require mithril ore and specific molds, and the crafting process involves activating a forge and following a series of steps.
Activate the Adamantine Forge:
- Find the adamantine furnace of Grimm’s Forge, coordinates X: -569 Y: 252.
- Initiate the activation process by placing mithril ore into the crucible and placing the designated mold into the mold chamber.
- Engage the activation mechanism by pulling the lever that hammers the crucible. The platform drops indicating successful activation.
Start the adamantine forging task:
- Interact and talk to the duergar in the Grimm’s Forge.
- Clear the road by mining boulders.
- The Adamantine Forge quest is unlocked when the Duergar reveal its existence.
- Follow the quest guide to find and activate the furnace.
Fine gold forging process:
- Place the mithril ore into the cauldron.
- Insert the desired mold into the mold chamber.
- Near the corner, find a valve to pull. This raised the height of the lava, causing the circular platform to become the only walkable surface.
- Fight Grym, a powerful construct awakened by rising lava.
Defeat the Grimm Construct:
- Grimm are highly resistant or immune to various types of damage, making direct combat challenging.
- Best strategy: Lure the Grimm onto the cauldron and pull the lever to hammer it down.
- Prepare your team by placing at least one member near the control pole and the remaining members in strategic locations to lead the Grimm towards the center.
Complete the production process:
- After defeating the Grimm and completing the activation process, open the Mold Room.
- In the mold room, forged items await.
- Only mithril ore is consumed during the production process; the mold can be recycled and reused.
