Baldur’s Gate 3: Should you save Minsk?

If you find yourself in the guild’s underground shelter, you’ll likely encounter Nine-Finger Keen and Jaheira. Both have a common goal: to stop Minsk, who is currently rampaging through the city, leaving destruction in its wake and paving the way for the Absolute Cult. After finding him in an abandoned cistern, Jaheira pleads with you to spare his life. So, here’s the question: Should you end his life?

The decision was simple. Although it has the potential to annoy the Emperor, it is recommended to eliminate him and grant him the power of the Prism. There are no obvious disadvantages to this option. By doing so, you will bring satisfaction to Jaheira and complete her companion quest. Additionally, Minsk will become a permanent member of your team, adding his ranger skills to your arsenal. This action also neatly solves a key stage in the “Aid to Underduke” mission series.

Of course, Minsk’s lively personality makes him a charming and enjoyable companion to have at your side.

Killing Minsk Guide

If you find yourself unsure if you can avoid dying in combat in Minsk, here’s a helpful guide. Below the hotbar that displays the available actions, there is a submenu labeled “Passive.” Click once. In this submenu, a new option will appear called “Non-lethal attacks.”

When this option is selected, your melee attacks will reduce Minsk to 1 health point. It’s worth noting that it’s still possible for magic attacks to take him out, so be careful.

After successfully incapacitating Minsk and disposing of the remaining absolutist clones, you’ll have a chance to talk to him. Through a series of decisions, you decide whether or not he will join your party.

Who is Minsk?

Minsk is a beloved human ranger who embarked on daring missions with you in this early entry in the Baldur’s Gate series. He became a fan-favorite due to his outlandish claims that his companions were “miniature giant space hamsters.” Despite going through the process of becoming a physical statue, he remains vibrant and alive a century since the events of Baldur’s Gate 2.

Minsk is known for his impressive qualities, possessing significant strength and agility suitable for his Ranger career. This combination of abilities allows him to play as a tough frontline warrior who fearlessly engages enemies in close combat, as well as a skilled marksman capable of precise attacks from a distance. Minsk’s unique background, interesting companions, and versatile combat abilities solidify his status as a memorable and cherished character in the Baldur’s Gate universe.
