Disney’s Island of Illusion Mission Route Error Guide

Similar to the previous mission titled “Mission,” “Wrong Route” is another adventurous mission in Disney’s Island of Illusion that doesn’t involve any boss encounters, learning new abilities, or opening locked doors. Instead, the main goal of this mission is to navigate from one point to another, interact with various non-playable characters (NPCs), and get closer to the journey’s final destination.

Compared to your previous adventure, “Wrong Route” offers a few extra quests, making the missions slightly longer overall. Still, it has similarities to the previous missions in terms of the challenges that await you. The missions in this mission are designed to be more manageable than others, but it’s still possible to have difficulty and get confused in the platforming sections.

Task overview for error routing

The “Wrong Route” mission in Disney’s Island of Illusion offers a set of missions without any mini-puzzles, locked doors, learning new abilities, or boss fights. Instead, players will find themselves reaching back into familiar areas and tweaking them slightly to keep the gameplay fresh. Despite the lack of complex challenges, the missions require multiple tasks to be completed, making them manageable but potentially repetitive due to the backtracking involved. Here is the complete task list for the “Wrong Route” mission:

Return information automaton

After completing the “Level 1 Inquiry” task, return to the information automaton. To reach it, jump on the doorbell in the office to flip the room, then head east through the corridor to reach the central hub of the MOP. The information automaton is located near the bottom center of the room. Talk to it to learn the location of the chute room access, which will lead to the next mission.

Open slide room access

From the information automaton, head northeast and take a series of elevators until you reach the mail railway that leads to the checkpoint. Activate the checkpoint and continue east. Make your way up and time your jumps well to navigate the bouncing pads that appear and disappear. Finally, keep moving right until you find a yellow bell in a room surrounded by mail tracks. Jump on the bell to open the chute room and complete the mission.

Go to the slide room

The slide room is now accessible, but the room has been rotated, changing the corridor layout. From the chute room, head west and follow the linear path back to the central hub of the MOP. From there, head northwest to the area where you first saw the Information Automata. You can only go west from here to reach the Slide Room in the northwest part of the area. Be careful as there are dangers and enemies along the way.

Press the emergency button

In the chute room, talk to Uncle Steve, then jump onto the other bell to spin the area again. Your next task is to find and activate the panic button, which is located near the center of the right section of the area, accessed from the lower right entrance of the central hub.

Head right and make your way through the long linear corridor while avoiding hazards until you return to the central hub. Continue southeast through another linear corridor until you reach the panic button. Jump onto it and rotate the area again, completing the mission.

Return to slide room

Once the panic button is activated and the area rotates again, return to the chute room in the upper left corner of the area. Retrace your steps along the linear corridor until you reach the central hub. Then, go through another linear corridor from the northwest entrance, directly to the slide room.

Disney Island of Illusion Gameplay

Disney’s Island of Illusion incorporates elements of the Metroidvania genre, a video game style known for its exploration-based gameplay and character progression. However, unlike traditional Metroidvania games that emphasize combat, Disney’s Island of Illusion puts the emphasis on platforming challenges.

Players will encounter a large number of carefully designed levels filled with puzzles, obstacles, and thrilling platforming sequences to create an engaging and dynamic gameplay experience.

A unique aspect of the game is that all characters have the same abilities, ensuring a balanced and level playing field for everyone. This design choice encourages players to choose their favorite Disney character based on personal preference rather than character-specific skills. Whether players choose Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, or any other beloved Disney character, they can expect the same enjoyable and challenging platforming adventure.

The game supports both single and multiplayer modes, giving players the flexibility to enjoy the gaming experience according to their preferences. In single-player mode, players can immerse themselves in the enchanting world of Disney’s Island of Illusion, progressing through levels and solving puzzles on their own. Multiplayer mode, on the other hand, allows friends or family to team up to tackle challenges together, promoting cooperation and camaraderie.

In multiplayer mode, Disney’s Island of Illusion introduces a unique mechanic where characters can throw ropes to each other. This feature facilitates cooperative play, allowing players to assist each other in traversing tricky sections, reaching higher platforms, or overcoming difficult obstacles. The rope mechanic not only enhances the cooperative nature of the game, but also adds an extra layer of strategy and coordination between players.

Overall, Disney’s Island of Illusion offers a refreshing take on the Metroidvania genre, emphasizing platforming prowess over combat skill and promoting camaraderie through cooperative multiplayer. With an enchanting Disney-themed world, engaging gameplay, and the ability to play alone or with friends, the game will deliver an unforgettable adventure for players of all ages, filled with magic, friendship, and exciting platforming challenges.
