In Sonic Superstars, players will embark on a side-scrolling adventure through 12 different areas of the Polaris Islands. The goal is to defeat the evil Dr. Eggman, who joins forces with Hunter Fang and Sungazer Tripp to capture the giant animals and create a powerful army.

Players can choose from four main characters: Sonic, who can dash after jumping; Tails, who can fly; Knuckles, who has the ability to slide and climb; and Amy, who wields a hammer and can double jump.
