You are looking for five Frost Pine Rods and eight Obsidian Slabs. Obsidian slabs are a little easier to obtain. Just head to the caves and use a rare pickaxe to mine obsidian. It is then broken into stones using a stone crusher. Frost pine sticks are trickier. You can only find Frost Pine trees in the Frostlands. Use the epic forest ax to chop them down.
Crafting an epic forest ax requires three copper ingots and three knotted rods. You need a rare pickaxe in a metal smelter to process copper bars. As for the knot sticks, they come from the knots in the lumber mill. You’ll find knots in forest caves, and they look like twisted tree roots.
Next, you need an Epic workbench. But here’s the thing, it’s not easy to do that. Different levels require different materials:
- Normal workbench: 3 pieces of wood and 5 pieces of granite
- Uncommon workbench: 3 shells and 8 planks
- Rare crafting table: 3 sand shells, 6 sand claws, 12 knotted rods, and 15 marble slabs
- Epic Workbench: 1 Savage Scale, 15 Copper Bars, and 25 Obsidian Slabs
Once you’ve completed all of this crafting, you’re finally ready for your epic pickaxe. Now, before you set off in search of malachite, remember, it’s cold outside! Get some spicy chili peppers from the desert biome. Eating one of these can keep you cold for two minutes.
