How to unlock the Sword of Olympus in God of War Ragnarok Valhalla DLC?
Complete Homecoming Goals:
- First achieve the “Return” goal in the lower realm of Valhalla in God of War Ragnarok. This objective involves picking up Helios, placing him in a cage, and pushing him towards the incinerator. This is the second story objective in the DLC.
Helios story sequence:
- During the battle with Helios in the storyline, you will be prompted to press L3 and R3. Follow the prompts to trigger the acquisition of the Blade of Olympus.
Equipment blade:
- After acquiring the Sword of Olympus, Kratos and Mimir would eventually be expelled from Valhalla. To re-equip the blade, visit the Spartan Fury selector and select “Legacy” as your special ability.
Activate the blade using traditional abilities:
- The Blade of Olympus becomes available when you have Legacy equipped and enough Rage built up. Press L3 and R3 to activate it. This powerful ability not only deals significant damage, but also restores health when an enemy is defeated and generates rage when parried.

These warriors fought, feasted, and trained until the momentous event of Ragnarök. The hall has golden details, numerous doors, and even displays of wolves and eagles. It is the resting place of fallen heroes, and Kratos and Atreus can influence its fate in the game.
Valhalla is the place where the chosen warriors enjoy the warrior afterlife until Ragnarök. Chaos ensues due to the Valkyrie’s curse, and Kratos and Atreus can help restore order by freeing the Valkyrie. In Norse mythology, it serves as a bond between heroic warriors, ensuring their return if they fall in battle. The connection needs to be cut during Ragnarok to avoid Asgardian reinforcements.
