King of Fighters

“The King of Fighters” (KOF) is a series of fighting video games produced by SNK. It all started in 1994 with the game The King of Fighters 94. Originally, these games were produced for SNK’s Neo Geo MVS arcade machine. They used Neo Geo MVS until 2004, when they decided to switch to another arcade machine called Atomiswave. They produced two King of Fighters games for Atomiswave, namely “The King of Fighters Neowave” and “The King of Fighters XI”. But since then, SNK stopped using Atomiswave.

Now, the newest arcade machine they’re using is called the Taito Type X2, and they started using it in The King of Fighters XII. They also made versions of these games for different video game consoles. The latest game in the series is called “The King of Fighters XV” and will be launched in February 2022.

• BOSS CHALLENGE: – Unlock explicit rewards for GOENITZ and OMEGA RUGAL (costumes, stages and background music). * When the challenge is completed, the title will be unlocked as normal

• Trials: – Certain trials have been changed based on character balance adjustments. *Similar Trials that you have completed in the past will still be marked as completed (even if they are included in the changes above).

• DJ STATION: – Added “Splendid Evil -KOF XV ver.-” to the following album: THE KING OF FIGHTERS 15

• Miscellaneous: – Fixed several other minor issues.

• Crouching LK: – Changed low profile timing of certain moves (changed from “before attack starts” to “at the same time as attack starts”). *Available for the following characters: Iori, K´, Luong, Athena and Elizabeth.

Shunrong

• Crouch LP: – Changed attack starting position from 5F to 4F.

• Jump HK: – Reduces damage box before attack starts.

• Sky Ax (cancelled version): – Changed attack starting point from 15F to 11F.

• Earth Hammer (canceled version): – Reduced all recovery frames.

• Thruster Vision·Front (EX Version): – Can now be canceled in Thruster Vision (Normal Version).

• Thruster Vision·Back (EX Version): – Can now be canceled in Thruster Vision (Normal Version).

• Ghost Extension: – Extended attack hit range

Ming Tianjun

• Sen-Siss Hou (Subsequent): – Increased active frames. – Expanded attack hit area (The expanded attack area can only land when the opponent is in hit status.) – Reduce the follow-up window.

• Geki Hou (regular version): – Now linked to the opponent’s invincible projectile attack. – Reduced charging time for level 2 and level 3 versions.

• Geki Hou (EX version): – Now linked to the opponent’s invincible projectile attack. – Changed first attack damage from 60 to 40. – Added combined scaling value.

• Chou Geki Hou: – Can now be advanced canceled or climax canceled on hit. – Change the opponent’s behavior when hit.

• Hakuchuu Musou (normal version): – Now pulls the opponent closer on first hit.

• Hakuchuu Musou (MAX version): – Now pulls the opponent closer on the first attack. -Expanded attack range. (The expanded attack range can only land when the opponent is in hit status.)

• Seikaku Meitengyobu: – Increased attack range. (The expanded attack range can only land when the opponent is in hit status.)

Nikaido Benimaru

• Long range LK: – Added attack hitbox for legs. – Expanded damage boxes for legs

• Proximity HP:- Extended proximity recognition.

• Jump HK: – Reduces damage box before attack starts.

• Inazuma Sandan-Geri (Regular Version): – Can now be super canceled from the last hit. – The final hit no longer hits multiple times in a combo.

• Rai-Kou Ken: – Added all recovery frames. – Reduced the knockback distance when blocking.

Isla

• Crouch HP: – Reduce attack hit range – Change attack start from 6F to 8F.

• Fill-In (EX version): – Expanded attack hit range. – Changed where projectiles appear. – Reduced all recovery frames.

• Scribe (LK version): – Reduced super cancel window – Reduced pause when hitting and blocking.

• Scribe (Hong Kong version): – Reduce super cancel window. – Reduced stopping when hitting and blocking. – Change the opponent’s behavior when hit.

• Splice C (normal version): – No longer causes a hard knockdown.

• [In Air] Back to Back: – Extends attack hit range. (The expanded attack range can only land when the opponent is in hit status.)

• Recovery: – Fixed an issue where in rare cases a character would switch sides with an opponent when performing a recovery at the edge of the screen.

• Close Standing LP: – Reduces all recovery frames.

• Close standing LK: – Reduces all recovery frames.

• Stinger (HP version): – Changed attack start from 24F to 22F. – Added activity frames. – Added active frames for projectile nullification hitboxes.

• Stinger (EX version): – Guard point removed. – Reduced the knockback distance when blocking. – Added all recovery frames when blocking and whistling.

• Heidern Slash: – No longer hits multiple times in a combo.

• Close standing HK: – Expand proximity recognition range.

• Hilzuni (normal version): -Changed from mid-attack to overhead attack. -Changed attack start from 12F to 24F. -Special moves can no longer be canceled. -Increase combined scaling value. -Reduced knockback distance and blocking on hit.

• Burj (HP version): – Changed attack starting point from 25F to 20F.

• Burj (EX version): – Changes the opponent’s behavior when hit.

• Qafas Qabl (LP version): – Damage changed from 65 to 80.

• Qafas Qabl (HP version): – Changed attack starting point from 22F to 20F.

• Qafas Qabl (EX version): – Attacks no longer travel outside the stage. – Change opponent’s flight when attacking for the second time.

• Qafas Khalfi (Hong Kong version): – Changed attack starting point from 28F to 24F.

• Nesh (LK version): – Increased attack hit range.

• Nesh (Hong Kong version): – Expanded attack hit range. – Expanded damage range.

• Nesh (EX version): – Changed attack start from 11F to 7F. – Added invincibility to air attacks. -Expanded attack hit range.

Kusanagi Kyo

• Standing LK at close range: – Can now be quickly canceled into standing LK.

• Jumping LK (Jump, Super Jump): – Extended Push Box.

• Counterattack: – Reduce attack hit range. – Expanded damage range

• Jump Counter: – Changed attack start from 12F to 14F. – Reduce active frames. – Reduced attack hitbox. – Expanded damage box.

• 88 Shiki (canceled version): – Changed from low attack to medium attack.

• Ge-Shiki·Naraku Otoshi: – Damage changed from 50 to 80. – Reduced damage boxes.

• 75 Shiki・Kai (regular version): – Added combo scaling value.

• 114 Shiki・Aragami: – Added all recovery frames when blocking and whistling. -Increased damage range. – Reduced attack hit range. * For opponents in the hit state, the hit range is the same as before.

• 124 Shiki・Munotsuchi: – Increased combo scaling value.

• 182 Shiki (Level 4): -Changed from unblockable to mid-attack.

Yagami Yaori

• Standing HK at close range: – Command action can now be canceled. – Expand the hit range of attacks close to the body

•Crouch LK: -Delayed the time when you can quickly cancel from crouch LP. -Changed lowdown time from “Before attack starts” to “At same time as attack starts”.

• Ge-Shiki・Yumebiki: – Reduces knockback distance when hitting and blocking.

• Ge-Shiki・Gofu In “Shinigami”: – Changed attack starting point from 28F to 26F.

• 100 Shiki・Oniyaki (LP Ver.): – Added all recovery frames for Block and Howl.

• Kuzukaze (EX version): – Removed immunity to physical attacks.

• 311 Shiki・Tsumakushi (LK version): – Reduced all recovery frames.

• Ura 1018 Shiki・Yashiori (MAX Ver.): – Damage changed from 290 to 255.

Kagura Chizuru

• Standing Close LK: – Changed attack start from 6F to 5F. – Reduced knockback distance on hit and block. – Reduce all recovery frames.

• Jo Katsu Cong Cong (Regular Version): – Super special moves and above can now be canceled.

• 212 Katsu Shinsoku no Norito (EX version): – Damage changed from 100 to 80.

• 100 Katsu Tenjin no Kotowari (EX version): – Changed attack starting point from 9F to 7F.

• Uramen 1 katsu San Rai no Fujin: – Clones no longer move outside the stage.

• Long Range LP: – Special moves can now be canceled.

• Sprite: – This move can now be performed even if another sprite is already active. When executed in this manner, active sprites will explode. – No longer hits multiple times during a combo. *Normal and EX versions can each hit once.
