1. Fight against the Boss – Blessed Carrion Knight Sanisau:
When you walk up the bridge to the Tower of Penance from Holy Brothers Manor, you’ll face the boss, Blessed Carrion Knight Sanisho. This boss mainly uses spear attacks and challenges the narrow bridge. The boss can also use poisonous breath attacks that cover a wide area. Try to lure the boss away from the poison and you should defeat it.
2. Rewards and further exploration:
After defeating the boss, you will receive the Carrion Knight Staff, Carrion Knight Skirt, and Relic Seeds. There is a shadowed flower bed above the bridge. When you’re ready to move on, you’ll notice that the tower door is locked. You can circle the left or right side of the tower. On the right you’ll find the braided loop, and on the left there’s a ladder going down.
3. Go down the tower:
Continue around the tower and you’ll see an elevator. Before taking it, get the map of the Tower of Penance opposite the elevator. Going up the ladder you can enter the tower through the upper arch. Inside, you’ll find another shadow flower bed.

Beyond it, there is a wooden platform. Follow the path, lower the platform, and enter the cell to find Geoffrey’s dagger. Continue, up the stairs, and jump back to the wooden platform. Follow it back up the ladder, where you’ll find an Emergent Statue that leads back to the Axiom.
4. The following challenges:
Descend the ladder and be careful of the zealous penitent breaking through the planks. You can jump to a lower platform, and inside the cell is a chest containing a Deralium Chunk. Afterwards, find the two Large Drakin Shards and defeat the Remnants and Shadow Eggs in the area.
Climb back to where you fought the Zealous Penitent. At the end of the walkway, you’ll find the Umbral platform you pulled earlier. Head down to find a wooden platform where you can safely fall. Inside the cell, you’ll find a chest containing a reborn pupa. Jump directly onto a stone platform.
5. Robbery and fighting:
On the stone platform, destroy the planks to reveal the Stigmata, which you can use Soul Skin to get two Shadow Surge and Sense Wisps. Drop onto the grating and defeat the enemies. You can find Rune Tablets and Infernal Guardian Spells in this area.
A door leads to the bridge that connects the tower to the Holy Brothers’ mansion. In a small room, there is a shadow flower bed where a checkpoint can be set up. After the robbery, go down the ladder in the inner circle of the room and watch out for the Zealous Confessor.
6. Last floor:
You will get to the level of using grate floors. In the cell opposite, you can pick up the Ring of Thorns. There is an emergence statue nearby. Step outside, into the shadows, and souls peel away the stigmata. To your left, there is a ladder.
Take it and another ladder to a large area with ruins and a Womb of Despair. After defeating the enemy, the soul can peel off the belly of shadow and obtain the Holy Essence. Return to the tower, go down the stairs, and about halfway there you’ll find a shadow flower bed. Go forward and face the boss Tancred, the Master of Punishment, and the Imprisoned Reinhold.
7. Boss battle – Punishment Master Tancred & Refugee Reinhold:
In the first phase, face Tancred who uses a staff and shield. Stay close to him to avoid his ranged attacks. After defeating him, the second phase begins, with Reinhold being a Logan Demon with different movesets. Stay close to his hind legs to avoid his frontal attack.
8. Rewards and Advancement:
After both stages are defeated, you’ll receive Tancred’s Key, Relic Seed, and Shadow Refinement. Enter the Shadows and soul-strip the boss’s Stigmata to obtain the Shadow Purification and the Memorial of Tancred and Reinhold.
9. Unlock the tower door:
Use Tancred’s key to open the door and take the elevator up.
