- Added paid DLC: “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” – Booster Course Pass, Wave 6 (two cups, eight tracks, four characters, 17 Mii racing suits).
General
- Added “Music” button to top menu.
- This is a feature where you can listen to background music playing during gameplay.
- Even players who do not have a Booster Course Pass can listen to the background music of the DLC courses.
- Added the function that other players who are not friends can join the room.
- After creating a room, pressing the + button or – button displays the room ID on the room screen and tells other racers about the room ID.
- Other contestants can join by entering their room ID in “Search by Room ID”.
- You can create a room even if you have 0 friends registered.
- Added employee points to Booster Couse Pass.
- Added invincibility time for some character and vehicle customizations.
- This is done so that you won’t be able to get powerful items when you get an item box by parking or reversing, or if you get an item box in the same location multiple times during a match.
- Reduced the time between when an item chest is acquired by someone and when it is restored.

- Fixed an issue in Wii Moonview Highway where there was no Bob-omb car exploding, but there was a Bob-omb car exploding for whoever you were playing online with.
- Fixed an issue where when racing against a ghost in Yoshi’s Island Time Trial, the red road would not appear even if the ghost came into contact with the Wing Cloud.
Balance changes:
- The invincibility statistic of Streetle, Landship, Pipe Frame, Varmint, City Tripper, Comet and W 25 Silver Arrow has been increased by 0.25 (1 point).
- The standard bike and flame knight’s invincibility stat has been increased by 0.50 (2 points).
- Wild Wiggler’s invincibility stat increased by 0.75 (3 points).
- Mach 8 and Sports Coupe’s invincibility stat has been reduced by 0.25 (1 point).
- Teddy Buggy and Inkstriker’s invincibility stat has been reduced by 0.50 (2 points).
- The invincibility value of all tires except Roller, Azure Roller, Off-Road and Retro Off-Road has been increased by 0.25 (1 point).
