‘The Sentinel’ 2023 Movie Ending Explained

After winning the election, Florence tried to keep Sentinel busy with a challenging case, believing that he was unable to solve it due to past mistakes. However, as Sentinel began to make headway, Florence pressured a music producer to release an album to distract him. Sentinel becomes interested in collaborating with Sorcier, a musician he admires, which draws his attention away from the case.

His former partner Morissette, frustrated by Sentinel’s distraction, lashed out at him and was fired. Sentinel decides to find the Wizard, only to find both him and Ryan dead. He called Morissette, who went to the Interior Ministry and exposed the failure of Sentinel’s career. Florence and Sentinel eventually have a showdown that results in Florence’s death and Sentinel’s arrest by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Eventually, Morissette takes over as captain, and the Sentinels set up a private investigative agency that embraces his unique existence despite his flaws as both a cop and a musician.

Sentinel 2023 movie plot

The movie opens with Sentinel’s partner Morissette chasing a dangerous criminal who committed murder. Morissette tries to guide Sentinelle by providing street names and locations, but Sentinelle has difficulty following directions. He kept going in circles, missing all the junctions mentioned by Morissette.

Things got worse when Morissette was shot in the leg. Despite the chaos, the sentry told Morrissey that he was no longer catching criminals and to go home. However, fate intervenes and the Sentinel accidentally hits the criminal with his car, leading to his arrest. Instead of putting him in jail, Sentinel’s boss asked him to shoot a music video.

Surprisingly, Sentinel even gave the criminal a role in the video, but it didn’t end well for him. The criminal threatened the heroine in the video and then ran away. The sentry tried to shoot him, but accidentally hit three innocent people, while the criminal managed to escape safely.

Later, Sentinel is summoned to President Florence’s home, where he receives disturbing news. François Sentinelle, played by Jonathan Cohen, may not be the best police officer, but that’s because his heart lies in making music videos rather than fighting crime. He often makes strange decisions, such as replacing actors with criminals he arrests and singing on surveillance, leading to incidents such as suspects being murdered and crime scenes being contaminated.

Surprisingly, Francois isn’t the only bumbling cop on the force. His colleagues are just as incompetent as he is, except for Morissette, played by Rafael Quinard, who takes his job seriously. When President Florence’s husband is kidnapped, Morissette leads the investigation, but Francois’s antics only complicate matters. “The Sentinel” is full of humor and surprises, from witty comebacks to hilarious misadventures, creating a manic and infectious energy. The success of this film lies in its commitment to making you laugh, with great performances from Cohen and Belcourt perfectly complemented by the zany humor. It’s a formula that works wonders for the Sentinels.
