What to Watch on Disney+ in July 2023: New Shows and Movies

Disney+

Disney+ is an American subscription-based video-on-demand streaming service owned and operated by the Entertainment Division of The Walt Disney Company. It offers a vast collection of movies and TV series produced by Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Television, with dedicated content hubs for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic. In addition, some regions also have the Star brand.

The technology behind Disney+ is developed by Disney Streaming Services, formerly BAMTech, which originated from MLB Advanced Media in 2015. Disney continued to increase its stake over the years, eventually including it as part of a corporate restructuring in preparation for its acquisition of 21st Century Fox.

Disney+ officially launched in the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands on November 12, 2019, and expanded to other regions in the months and years that followed. The service has been praised for its vast library of content, but has also been criticized for technical issues and the omission of some content.

Nonetheless, it quickly gained popularity, attracting 10 million subscribers on its first day and reaching the important milestone of 157.8 million global subscribers on April 1, 2023.
