Welcome to the enchanted world of Eldraine, where fairy tales come to life and every card is filled with magic. In this unique gaming experience, you’ll enter the heart of Eldraine’s mysteries and challenges. Gather around the table and let the adventure begin.
Step 1: Draw the Land:
When you sit down with your fellow drafters, the first step is to choose your basic lands. Eldraine offers a series of beautiful base lands that capture the essence of fairy tales. Choose your five basic lands from Hari and Deepti’s all-art “Fairy Tale” series (#262-266). These lands set the stage for the fascinating journey that awaits.
Step 2: Assemble your backpack:
Each player receives three booster packs to start the draft. These card packs contain 15 common cards from the expansion pack. There are 266 common cards, including Commons, Uncommons, Rares and Mythic Rares, each with the potential for exciting discovery. When you start building your deck, you might discover creatures, enchantments, spells, and more.
Step Three: Draft Magic:
The draft begins with the first player opening their booster pack and selecting a card to add to their deck. When the pack is passed to the next player, they choose a card and continue this process until all cards in the first pack have been claimed. Then, open the second packet and pass it in the opposite direction. Finally, open the third packet and pass it again in the original direction. Throughout the draft process, you’ll carefully select cards that fit your strategy, whether based on enchantments, creatures, or other mechanics.
Step 4: Explore uniqueness:
Eldraine Wilds introduces a variety of card frameworks to enhance your gameplay. Look out for alternate card frames with different numbers than the original. The cards offer a unique visual experience that complements the collection’s captivating themes. Also, keep an eye out for Storybook display cards (#277-296), Borderless cards (#297-307), new Jumpstart cards (#308-322), and expansion art cards (#323-374). These cards add a layer of variety and strategy to your deck building decisions.
Step 5: Inner Universe and Promotional Cards:
“Wilds of Eldraine Set Boosters” contains Universes Within versions of characters from the Secret Lair Drop series: The Walking Dead (#018-023). These special cards bring crossovers between universes, adding unexpected variety to your gameplay. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for promotional cards (#375-381) that offer unique mechanics and interactions.
